Sept. 11, 2001
To our clients and brokers:
On behalf of A.I.T. Adjustment Corp. and our employees we would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
We are shocked and saddened by these tragic events.
Like so many in our country, we will forever be indebted to all those who have given so much in responding to last week's tragic events. Personally, I have grieved the loss, applauded the courage, and been inspired by the sacrifice of so many for the good of us all.
We are painfully aware that it is times like these when our clients need us most, which is why I’ve put all of our Company’s resources at your disposal. We are here to assist you.
Our Cat unit is here to work with you 24/7. We have adjusters on call in the WTC area everyday.
We continue to pray for the victims and their families, and we hope that you and yours are safe and well.
Sincerely,
A.I.T. Adjustment Corp

TO: All Employees
FROM: Corporate Security
SUBJECT: Chemical/Biological Threat. The recently confirmed cases of exposure to anthrax have caused an increase in anxiety worldwide over the possibility of chemical and biological attacks. For some time, Corporate Security has been putting into place the processes and precautionary measures to minimize the potential of AIT employees being exposed to these agents. The following information, provided by Corporate Security, is intended to assist in identifying suspect packages and actions that should be taken if there becomes concern that exposure to anthrax or another harmful agent has occurred. Delivery Methods - effective dispersal of anthrax is difficult due to the fact that the bacteria cannot survive exposure to ultraviolet light or direct moisture. The preferred methods of delivery are through aerosols, letters, or packages opened by unsuspecting personnel. Anthrax delivered via letters or packages most often resemble a dry, reddish brown or white fine, powdery substance. Identifying Suspect Parcels - persons receiving letters/parcels should pay close attention to the appearance, wrapping, addressing, postage or any other irregularities of the parcel: Was the parcel expected - be cautious of unsolicited mailings granting prizes, travel, etc. A foreign substance can be secreted on the tab of the return envelope. Do you know the sender - if not, and you feel the item is "suspect", then immediately contact Corporate Security (914) 962-0790. Was there excessive postage. Was there a legible return address. Was the parcel rigid. Was the parcel lopsided. Did the parcel emit a strange odor. Action to be Taken - In the event that you open a parcel and encounter an unidentifiable substance: Do not panic. Set (do not drop, toss, etc.) the parcel down gently at the location where you first opened it - it is preferable that the item be placed in a trash can. Do not pass the parcel to others, and do not disturb the contents any further. Remain at that location to minimize your potential exposure to others. Discourage other individuals from coming in close proximity to you. If others enter that area, they MUST remain until given proper instructions to leave. Advise a co-worker to immediately contact Corporate Security. Turn off any circulating fans, air conditioners or heaters in the immediate area. Do not attempt to wash off or disperse the agent. Do not ignore this potential danger. It must be treated as legitimate until properly evaluated. NOTE: It is important to remember that exposure to anthrax does not mean an individual will necessarily become sick. By following the guidelines listed above, the likelihood of exposure or sickness will be lessened even more so. However, should there be a concern with regard to chemical exposure, Corporate Security should be contacted immediately. In the interim, please do not hesitate to contact Corporate Security should you have any questions regarding this information.
